Arnos Vale, St. Vincent – The last two Quarter-Finals spots are up for grabs when the preliminary round of the National Lotteries Authority National First Division comes to an end on Sunday 15th March.
In Group A, Strike Eagles on eight points and Police One with four points, will wrestle for the group’s remaining qualifying place, when they clash at the Sion Hill Playing Field. A win for either team sends them to the next round, but Police One will also need to improve their net run rate in so doing. Vee Jay’s Roof top & Bar North Windward, Smashers and the French Verandah SVG Community College have already qualified to the final eight from Group A.
At Arnos Vale One, Victors Two also go in search of four points as well as a significant improvement in their net run rate, if they are to snatch the other final eight spot from Group B, when they take on Radcliffe Two. Captain of the defending champions, Elron Lewis thinks “the task for Victors Two is a daunting one, to improve their net run rate, in an effort to eliminate CJ Jules Anthony MSDA Nothern Stars, who will be turning a new page once they are in the knock out stages of the competition”. Pollard Investments North Windward Combine, Keegan’s Bequia XI and Coreas Distribution Belfongo have already confirmed their Quarter-Final places from Group B.
Also this coming Sunday, Pollard Investments North Windward Combine square off against Keegan’s Bequia XI at Arnos Vale Two, to decide the eventual Group B winners, while Smashers will look to return to winning ways and in so doing win Group A, when the battle St. Vincent Distillers Glamorgan at Stubbs.
