St. Vincent & the Grenadines national senior team 24 man squad named.

Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines – 22nd April 2016 – In preparation for the Windward Islands Senior Male tournament 2016, the local selection senior panel chaired by Roland Wilkinson has named a trial squad of 24 players.

The squad has some notable omissions, following the voluntary break taken by experienced players and former captains Lindon James and Romel Currency. Additionally, both Alston Bobb and Ray Jordan are unavailable, due to commitments to play league cricket in England. The full squad that reads below is expected to commence training on the week of 25th April 2016, under the lead supervision of Deighton Butler and other senior coaches. Other players are expected to be drafted in for practice matches.

This year, the tournament will be played in Grenada, from 27th May – 4th June. The decision for the tournament to be played earlier than normal was made to facilitate the players in having an opportunity to earn a contract in the franchise draft, tentatively scheduled for June 2016. The Windward Islands tournament format this year will continue to be 2-day. Dominica is the defending champion.
