Arnos Vale, St. Vincent – August 23, 2017 – South Windward/St. George chalked up what turned out to be a routine 25 run win over Marriaqua on Thursday in the SVGCA Zonal U15 tournament at the Stubbs Playing Field.

South Windward/St. George sent into to bat were dismissed for 117 in 23.4 overs with Joe Williams 20, Keadon Hackshaw 17 and Joel Horne 12 getting into double figures. The team looked to be headed for a more substantial total when they posted 29 for the opening partnership and being 56/2 at one stage, but a spate of wickets in the middle put paid to their ambition.

The Marriaqua bowling was led by Kimone Homers 3/24, Orlando Gilbert 3/25 and Omarion Ottley 2/25.

Marriaqua challenge of getting the required 118 for victory in their allotment of 40 overs was derailed from early when they lost both openers without scoring to see the total 2/4 in the first over. Kimone Homer (36) carried the fight for all of 77 balls until he was the last man out as his team were dismissed for 92 in 33.1 overs.

Solomon Bascombe (3/25) was the best of the ten bowlers used, with Lenroy Dalzell 2/5 and Leo Defreitas 2/6 also getting among the wickets.
