Arnos Vale, St. Vincent – Police One and defending champions CJ Jules Anthony MSDA Northern Stars clinched the last two Quarter Finals spots when the preliminary round of the National Lotteries SVG Cricket Association Inc. National First Division ended on Sunday 15th March.

In Group A, Police One downed Strike Eagles by 87 runs at Sion Hill, and in so doing ended on eight points, the same as their opponents, but edged passed the Eagles on a better net run rate, to steal the fourth quarter final spot from Group A.  Police One hammered their way to 247 all out off 29.4 overs. Kenroy Williams led the way with 41 not out. Jazard Farrell 2 for 44 and Javid Wilson 2 for 53 got amongst the wickets for Strike Eagles, who in reply were dismissed for 160 in 21 overs. Kevin Peters stroked 70 off just 35 balls, including five sixes and six boundaries.  Rueford Jack was the most successful bowler for Police One with figures of 3 for 37.

CJ Jules Anthony MSDA Northern Stars secured the other quarter final spot from Group B, after Victors Two could not improve sufficiently their net run rate, in their six wickets win over Radcliffe Too at the Arnos Vale Playing Field. Radcliffe Too, with only seven players, were shot out for 44 in 17.3 overs. Shamick Roberts picked up 3 for 19 bowling for Victors Two, who lost four wickets in 7.5 overs as they reached their 46 to earn the victory. Kyle Bobb grabbed 3 for 22 in a losing effort for Radcliffe Too.

Also on Sunday, Pollard Investments North Windward Combine ended atop of Group B with 16 runs win over Keegan’s Bequia XI at Arnos Vale Two. Pollard Investment North Windward Combine, behind 69 from Shem Browne made 203 all out in 28.3 overs. Iran Mack bagged 5 for 35 for the gents from the island of clouds. In reply, Keegan’s Bequia XI fell short, 187 all out in 28.5 overs. Orlando Lavia led the batting with 62. There were two wickets apiece for Orwin Williams, Kerwin Williams, Braxy Browne and Dean Browne, combining to complete the win for Pollard Investments North Windward.

The quarter finalist reads, from Group A, Smashers, Vee Jay’s Roof top & Bar North Windward, French Verandah SVG Community College and Police One. And from Group B, Pollard Investments North Windward Combine, Keegan’s Bequia XI, Coreas Distribution Belfongo and CJ Jules Anthony MSDA Northern Stars.
