Arnos Vale, St. Vincent – The interest continues to heighten as the SVGCA Inc. National cricket competitions near the crowning of the 2020 champions across the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division (NLA) as well as the National Lotteries Authority First Division. All remaining matches are of significance towards crowning the eventual 2020 champions in the two respective divisions.

With four matches left to be played in the SVG top-flight  NLA Premier Division, Police Two will be going all out to snatch the 2020 title says, captain Rickford Walker. Walker believes his fellow young lawmen have all to play for with two matches still to be completed. With a maximum of 48 points up for grabs in these two remaining matches, Police Two who are currently on 81 points, will look to gradually reduce the deficit between them and the present Premier Division leaders, Flow Radcliffe, this weekend, when they meet in a top of the table clash at the Park Hill playing field. The challenge for the title by Police Two would be enhanced if they can walk away with all 24 points against the current leaders. However, Flow Radcliffe is on 125 points, and anything but an outright loss on the weekend will secure them the 2020 National Lotteries Authority Premier Division championship honours.

Match two this weekend in the NLA Premier Division brings together the two teams at the other extreme of the Premier Division ladder,  Guardian General Saints, who are fourth in the standings on 63 points and 5th positioned Victors One who stands on 24 points, as they are set to meet at the Sion Hill playing field. The improvement of individual stats would be one of the goals set for the encounter by the players from each respective unit.

In the NLA First Division for Sunday, August 9th, the team to battle the defending champion, CJ MSDA Jules Anthony Nothern Stars for the 2020 First Division championship will be decided when Keegan’s Bequia XI and Vee Jay’s Roof Top and Bar North windward square off at the Arnos Vale One playing field. Gareth Wilson, just off the first century of the 2020 NLA 50 overs First Division, 118, and Denson Hoyte of Vee Jay’s Roof Top and Bar North windward, whose batting has improved as the tournament progressed, will see who would produce the best closing arguments when they take on the impressive bowling duo of Jenry Ollivierre and Chelson Stowe, the leading wicket-takers during the Keegan’s Bequia XI 2020 campaign.

The NLA First Division 50-over match begin at 10:00am on Sunday, while the NLA Premier Division two-day matches begin at 1:00pm on Saturday and 10:00am on Sunday.
