Arnos Vale, St. Vincent – The 2018 National Lotteries Authority SVG Independence International Masters T20 Festival commenced on the 23rd October 2018. This, the second installment of this annual Festival will see 12 teams competing across two divisions for cash prizes. A total of 6 international teams will participate in this year’s festival.

The Festival Shield Division consists of 8 teams in two groups as follows;

Group 1: North East Masters, Central Trinidad Touring Team, New York Masters, RSVG Police Masters.

Group 2: East Masters T&T, Mustique Company Masters, Vincy Log Masters, Canada Masters.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The winner will receive USD $3500, 2nd Place USD $2000 and losing semifinalist USD $500 each.

The Fete Division consists of 4 teams; Munroe Road Masters, Prime Minister’s XI, Sarasota International Cricket Club and Joseph DaSilva Sr Memorial Funeral Home North Leeward Masters. In the Fete Division, teams will face each other to determine positions going into the semifinals. The winner of this division will receive USD $1500 and 2nd Place USD $800.

Mustique Co. Masters vs. Vincy Log Masters

Mustique Co. Masters won by 41 runs

The toss was won by Vincy Log Masters who elected to field first.  Mustique Company made 155 for 5 off their 20 overs.  Nicholas Baptiste made 68 (54) and Oniel Thomas made 47(42).  Kissinger Mc Lean got 2 for 16 off 3 overs.

Vincy Log Masters in reply got to 114 for 7, Rohan Ash got 50*(41), Lennox Samuel 20(17).  Roy Baptiste and Oneil Thomas captured 2 wickets a piece, Baptiste 2 for 16 off 4 overs, Thomas 2 for 20 off 3 overs.

Park Hill

New York Masters vs. RSVG Police Masters (10am)

RSVG Police Masters won by 62 runs

New York Masters won the toss and elected to field first.  RSVG Police made 190 for 5 off their 20 overs.  Gosnel Cupid made 85 (53) and Parnel Browne made 48(31).  Joseph Shortte and Andy Douglas took two wickets each, Shortte 2 for 26 off 3 overs and Douglass 2 for 36 off 4 overs.

New York Masters in reply were bowled out for 128 in 19.1 overs Ezekiel Williams top scored with 22 (22). Elgin Richards captured 3 for 24 off 3 overs while Micah Joseph and Carlos Sampson claimed 2 wickets a piece, Joseph 2 for 22 off 3 overs, Sampson 2 for 35 off 4 overs.

East Masters (T&T) vs. Canada Masters (2pm)

East Masters won by 9 wickets.

Having won the toss and choosing to bat, Canada masters were bowled out in 18 overs for 59. Garnet Caesar 19 and Rick Ali 10, the only batsmen to get to double figures. Imtaz Rojhan 3 for 5 off 4 overs and Ryan Baksh 3 for 14 off 4 did the damage for East Masters.

East Masters made light work of the small score, they got to 63 in 4.5 overs. Imtaz Rojan scored 22 not out off 16 balls to complete an impressive all-round performance.

FETE DIVISION RESULTS

Munroe Road Masters vs. Prime Ministers XI

Munroe Road Masters win by 5 wickets.

Munroe Road Masters won the toss and inserted the Prime Minister’s XI. The Prime Minister’s XI got to 93 for 9 of their 20 overs. Dexter Small 29 (25) and Lance John 24 (25). Three bowlers took two wickets each for Munroe Road Masters, Ramesh Singh 2 for 17 off 4, Rajnarine Ragoonath 2 for 20 off 4 and Anil Barlo 2 for 8 off 2 Overs.

Munroe Road Masters scored 98 for 5 in a successful chase off 15.1 overs. Ramesh Singh led the way with 33 (21) and Lutchman Rampersad finished the inning on 15 not out with a lofted drive over long on for 6. Bowling for the Prime Minister’s XI Noel Samuel and Curtis King bagged two a piece. Samuel picked up 2 for 18 off 4 overs and King 2 for 12 off 2.

Joseph DaSilva Sr Memorial Funeral Home North Leeward Masters vs. Sarasota International Cricket Club ( Florida )(2pm)

North Leeward Masters won by 6 wickets
Sarasota International Cricket Club won the toss and chose to bat first. They scored 111 for 5 off their 20 overs. Chris Thakoopersand top scored with 20 off 27. Conroy Ryan took 2 wickets for 11 runs off 3 overs bowling for North Leeward Masters.

In reply North Leeward Masters got to 116 for 4 from 16 overs. Leon Samuel 39 not out off 23 balls and Ancil Hooper 22 (19). Sheryah Husain picked up 2 for 15 off 4 bowling for the Sarasota International Cricket Club.
