Arnos Vale, St. Vincent – May 24, 2017 – Triumph United, French Verandah SVG Community College, and Smashers completed wins in the National Lotteries 50 overs Sunday league on Sunday 21st May, when the competition continued at four venues.
Triumph United romped to a massive 240 runs win over Strike Eagles at the Park Hill Playing Field. Triumph United amassed 338 for 9 in 47.4 overs behind a masterful 129 balls 168 by Kerwin Williams that was puntuated with eight sixes and eleven boundaries. Felix Greaves added 37 while extras were 50 in total. Javil Wilson’s 2 for 79 was the best bowler for Strike Eagles. Strike Eagles in reply had no answer to the bowling of Felix Greaves and Kanaka Smith who walked away with figures of 5 for 26 and 4 for 24 respectively, as Strike Eagles were dismissed for 98 in 19.5 overs. Only Elsworth Lewis 25 and Olanzo Haywood 20 showed any resistance to the Triumph United bowling.
At the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field, French Verandah SVG Community College secured a six wickets win over Ruddy’s Electrical Unique Warriors. Unique Warriors call correctly at the toss and chose to bat. They were comfortably placed at 94 for 4, before losing their remaining six wickets for 25 runs, to be dismissed for 119 in 24.3 overs. Joelano Neil 24 and Sylvester Vanloo 20 were the main scorers. Jerremy Haywood bagged 4 for 15, Rayshorn John took 3 for 18 while Tijorn Pope picked up 2 for 21 bowling for the college unit. In reply, the French Verandah sponsored unit took 14.1 overs to get to 120 and lost four wickets in the process. Tijorn Pope led the way with 42 while Urnel Thomas scored 22. Joseph Medford took 3 for 42 Bowling for Unique Warriors.
At the Stubbs playing Field, Defending champions Smashers had an easy seven wickets win over Radcliffe Two. Radcliffe Too were restricted to 84 for 8 when their innings closed. Ceron Padmore scored 34. Antony Charles 4 for 26 and Javid Harry 3 for 28 did the damage for Smashers. Smashers in reply took just 10.4 overs to get to 88 for 3. Courtney Joyette and Kesworth Lewis scored 26 and 24 not out respectively to see their team to victory.
At post time, scorecards for the Sunday League games between Prime Consulting Marriaqua and Glamorgan United as well as the Premier Division game between Guardian General Saints and Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO were not available.
The weekend of May 27th and 28th will see five matches down for decision. Team Rivals and Police Two will clash in a National Lotteries Authority Premier Division must watch encounter.
In the National Lotteries Authority 50 overs Sunday League, Combined Youths will play Prime Consulting Marriaqua at Buccament, Providence Electronic Solutions North Leeward and Strike Eagles face each others at Arnos Vale Two, Triumph United meet Radcliffe Too at Park Hill while Belfongo square off with French Verandah SVG Community College at Stubbs.
