Arnos Vale, St. Vincent – April 16, 2017 – On Saturday April 15th, the SVG Cricket Association Inc. were presented with a 25 man strong National Men’s Senior team training squad.
Chairman of Selectors, Mr. Roland Wilkinson, on behalf of his other senior men’s selection committee members; Lance John, Bill Edwards and Romel Currency has included West Indies T20 fast bowler Kesrick Williams, Kenneth Dember and Desron Maloney from the Police Two cricket club. Guardian General Saint’s selectees are Windward Islands captain Sunil Ambris, Rickford Walker and Jerron John.
Team Rivals and Flow Radcliffe boast 5 selections each of the 25 players called up for training. Asif Hooper, Roneil Jeffery, West Indies under 19 speedster, Obed McCoy, Rasheed Fredericks and Hyron Shallow are all members of the Team Rivals unit. From Flow Radcliffe the players include Windward Islands Left arm seamer Delorn Johnson, West Indies under 19 hard hitter Gidron Pope, Othneil Lewis, Romano Pierre and Wayne Harper. National T20 champions, Victors One has 6 players vying for final selection: Miles Bascombe, Shaquille Browne, Donwell Hector, Ray Jordon, Atticus Browne, and Kirton Lavia.
Deron Greaves and Kenson Dalzell from Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO complete the list of players who have been enlisted from premier division team.
A lone player from First Division Sunday League has also made the cut, in the person of national Under 19 alrounder, Jeremy Layne from the French Verandah SVG Community College.
A final 13 man squad will be selected to represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the 2017 Windward Islands Senior men’s Cricket tournament to be held in Dominica between the 21st and 28th May.
