Arnos Vale – SVG Cricket Association Inc. Local Competition weekend preview for the opening two days of the national cricket championships 2020.
In the Premier Division this coming weekend, runners up in the 2019 tournament, Flow Radcliffe, will begin their quest to cop one of the two top spots, as outlined by one of their directors, Dyke Cato, when they take on Guardian General Saints at the Sion Hill playing field. The goals of the Flow Rivals organization for 2020 are clear, “ to take the first two positions in all competitions”, so says Mr. Dyke Cato. Cato believes that the club’s goals will be achieved due to their blend of youth which they plan to expose more this year, with the more senior and experienced players who are the club’s foundation and ultimate guides.
Also down for decision this weekend in the Premier Division, is the match up between Police Two and Victors One, two of the other three top flight teams, that are in search for the new purse of EC $10,000.00 and the Premier Division title, that’s being played in two rounds this year.
In the National Lotteries fifty overs, white ball, colored clothing First Division on Sunday, the 2019 champions MSDA Jules Anthony Northern Stars are in early action against a formidable Keegan’s Bequia XI at the Arnos Vale Two playing field. Captain of the MSDA Jules Anthony Northern Stars cricket team, Mr. Elron Lewis, explained that the main objective of his unit in 2020 is to continue to expose the youthful talent that exist in the area, so that in the long run, they can become future national players.
Also on Sunday 19th January in the First Division, the entertaining Smashers unit will lock horns with Police One at Buccament while the experienced St. Vincent Distillers Glamorgan battle the youths from the French Verandah SVG Community College at Stubbs.
